Monterey Jazz Festival & Kuumbwa Jazz Present: Rosanne Cash & John Leventhal Friday, March 4 Sunset Cultural Center

The Monterey Jazz Festival and Kuumbwa Jazz continue their concert programming partnership to present Rosanne Cash & John Leventhal at Carmel By-the-Sea’s Sunset Cultural Center. Of the collaboration between Monterey Jazz Festival and Kuumbwa Jazz, Tim Jackson, Artistic Director for both nonprofits, shares “I’m really pleased to see two great organizations join forces with the purpose of bringing more great music to the Santa Cruz-Monterey area.”

One of the country’s pre-eminent singer-songwriters, Rosanne Cash has released 15 albums of extraordinary songs that have earned four Grammy Awards and 12 nominations, as well as 21 top-40 hits, including 11 chart-topping singles. She Remembers Everything—her latest release—is a poetic, lush, and soulful collection of songs that reckon with a flawed and intricate world. It follows her triple Grammy-winning 2014 album The River & the Thread and marks a return to more personal songwriting after a trio of albums that explored her southern roots and family heritage.

Described by Rolling Stone as “One of the most ambitious and literary songwriters of her generation”, Cash will be joined on this concert date by guitarist (and longtime Cash album producer) John Leventhal.
